Kindergarten Moody Shape Monsters!
Students created monsters out of shapes that conveyed a mood. Students first created texture rubbings to give their monsters texture, then discovered how to create other shapes from squares.
1st grade Leonardo da Vinci-inspired inventions
First grade students thought of a way to either help them to do something or help others by creating an invention. We learned about Leonardo da Vinci's invention sketches to create our own. Then students used found objects which they classified as being either geometric forms or organic forms (form is a 3D shape) to build an invention sculpture based on their sketch. Try to figure out what objects they combined to make their sculpture!

3rd grade students created quilts for the common good
Students were inspired by the artist, Keith Haring, who created figures that conveyed a positive message. Students came up with a theme/positive message and used body language to convey that message. After creating their square they collaborated to put the quilt together.

5th grade Dream Houses
Fifth grade students designed their own dream house and used the styrofoam printmaking process to create it with an oil pastel background
