Fourth grade Chesapeake Bay Paintings

Fourth graders created a monochromatic Chesapeake bay painting based on them visualizing themselves swimming in the Chesapeake bay. We discussed how and why the bay isn't actually as clear as it is in their paintings due to pollution. Students learned how to mix tints and shades in order to create the water. Then they added silhouettes of themselves and different organisms in the bay. Students are finishing up their haiku poems that describe their mood when swimming in the bay. Stay tuned to see their poems and more paintings!
