1st Grade Reggie Laurent-Inspired paintings

First graders learned about a contemporary abstract artist who was also a self-taught artist: Reggie Laurent. They analyzed his artwork finding different elements of art: line, shape, color. Students followed Reggie's process for creating his paintings.

Kindergarten Robots with a Purpose

Kindergarten students create robots meant to help them in their everyday lives.

Students first explored color mixing by overlapping primary colored- wet tissue paper onto paper to create the colored squares for their robots.



Students then explored texture by created texture rubbings on paper.



Then students started cutting out shapes from squares to build their robots based on their sketches.  They learned how to cut basic shapes out of squares.




They added details to their collages. Then they used gadget printing to add silver shapes and a pattern frame border
