Fourth grade students learning how to use art to learn the visualizing reading comprehension strategy

Students first were to describe an artwork to a partner. The partner had to visualize by creating a mental picture in their mind, then draw what they saw in their mind.

Then students tranferred this skill to text. They first read a short descriptive sentence, visualized and created a drawing. Then they chose a poem to illustrate with their mental picture
