1st Grade Recycled Materials Letters

In connection with first graders working on sight words, letter sounds students created a letter and created them using different materials in connection to their science unit on materials. 

Try to see what materials you can find! Plastic ? Paper? Cardboard? Wood? Metal? Fabric?

After creating their letter and pattern they painted them with either a primary or secondary color and outline in black.

Students created texture rubbings of their letter composition and  wrote as many words that started with that letter as they could think of .
