Third grade students are creating collagraph printmaking African-inspired masks

In connection with third graders learning about the continent of Africa, students researched different countries and created a mask based on a country. Students thought critically to  "rework the piece" by creating of a mask based on an African mask that they reworked to represent a mood based on a  personal experience.

Students are in the process of creating watercolor backgrounds and making collagraph prints of their mask composition

Students will be painting their masks after printmaking. Stay tuned for more masks and watch the process!
